Well, now I know why they call it long haul! Phew, arrived in Sydney 40 minutes early after having taken off half an hour late. And somewhere in the middle we’ve lost a whole 24hrs…….and it feels like we haven’t slept for a week! We finally hit ‘screaming baby syndrome’. You know, the one where you always pick a seat that you think will be perfect and you end up either next to or near a) a screaming baby or b)an arguing couple. Well we hit the jackpot. Baby a few seats behind and a couple bent on damaging each other all the way from Hong Kong to Sydney. Head butts and biting included. On went the headphones,up went the volume. Oh, and you know I said I wouldn’t want to repeat the ‘spinach for breakfast’ ordeal. Well they topped it. Yup, chicken, spinach, carrots, broccoli and baby tomatoes. ……..For breakfast? ?
At least I got a low fat yogurt this time 😂
Coming through Sydney airport was a dream. Automated passport control, bags on the conveyor as we got to the carousel, straight into to the train station, tickets purchased, all in around half an hour. We were a little surprised to see a double decker train pull into the platform. Never experienced that before and we’d managed to hit rush hour fair and square so it was a little on the busy side. Standing room only. Just a short ride into the city and it was time for coffee once again.
Excellent coffee
We were flagging, big time. Still are. Feeling quite ill actually. Now was that breakfast or the jetlag! ?## Sorry folks, I am so tired I couldn’t even be asked to take more photos. I’ll save that for another day.

We met our host, Scott and dropped off our bags before taking a walk in the warm Sydney sunshine. Cities are the same all over the world, loud, busy, bustling. We stopped for yet another coffee and a cake, hoping that the sugar rush would perk us up a bit. It was no good, we had to get some sleep. Back to the apartment shower and bed. It was so nice to be horizontal for a change.
Cont: Had 40 winks and a walk about then viewed a spectacular sunset from our balcony.
Well done. Hope you have a great adventure
