Well, I think we’ve only got to get to see a live kangaroo and maybe a wallaby and we’ve cracked it! Another special day here walking the tracks and discovering new things. There’s lots of video to upload and this will take time, so I hope you will stick with the blog. Some of it may not come together until we return, to the UK but it will get updated.
So, couldn’t believe our luck today when we saw a turtle. Very difficult to spot and if it wasn’t for Richard’s sharp eyes I doubt I would have seen it.
I took more video today than photos, and these will be processed in due course, got some amazing whale footage and some more dolphins to. I don’t think I’ve said the word WOW so much in my entire life! Ha!
We walked around the lighthouse today to the most easterly point in Australia, similar to Lowestoft in the UK but nothing like the place!
The view was great, so high up you could see the whales moving underwater.
It was hot today, melting. So hot at one point in the town I had to start walking on the grass as my shoes got so hot! Lots of people walking about in bare feet, and lying on the beach with no shade…don’t know how they do it. TOAST!
Popped into a chemist to buy some more sunscreen and was bedazzled by the array to choose from. All different types and none under SPF 30. I chose a 50+ to be on the safe side. No more burning for me! Lunch today was Mexican enchiladas by the way, very tasty.
We’ve seen lots of beaten up old vans while we’ve been here, converted into mobile homes, lots with roof tents. Mostly parked outside multi million $ homes; but I think this was more a coincidence! Some of the residences are out of this world.
Tomorrow we move on once more but only a little way up the coast to Hastings Point to see my family. Haven’t seen them in what must be twenty odd years or more. Can’t wait.
