Hastings Point

Arrived !  Didn’t take long at all, even with a short stop to look at the ocean and have a paddle.   img_20161021_102939 Saw a couple of jelly fish too.

Been  busy with the family wp-1477121792472.jpgso yesterday’s blog is today’s’.  Been for a couple of nice walks, down to the beach and then this morning up to Hastings Point itself where we saw an osprey carrying a large fish.

We were treated to a drive up to Queensland today, where the time is an hour different from here in NSW.  Had a fabulous lunch at the Surf Club in Coolangatta where we had to show ID/passports to confirm that we weren’t from the area. Richard had Barramundi and chips, I had coconut covered deep fried prawns and calamari with a salad and cashew nuts, all beautifully fresh. The rest of the family had a mixture of steak and fish.

There was a fantastic view of the Gold Coast from the dinning area; unfortunately it was very windy and so there was a  lot of spray in the air making the view a little misty.p1120766 p1120768

After lunch we made a couple of stops on the way home, one of which was the border between Queensland and NSW.  One foot in QL and one in NSW and your watch goes round in circles!!!  NOT. Lol.  Our other stop was at Point Danger, an air sea rescue look out and a lighthouse with some lovely views and a potted history of the place.
